DESCRIPTION:

Mike got his meat counter up and running in mid-September  2010 and most of his meat and produce is locally grown. For instance, he’s got a deal with Chris Bailey of Bailey’s Farm Fresh Produce in Wenatchee, to bring in freshly picked produce to the market every morning. He also works with Sara Rolfs of Grinnin Meadows to supply fresh produce, eggs, teas, and jams. Scott and Ruth Parsons own the Healthy Gourmet Food & Lifestyle School and provide fresh produce and baked items, like bread and pizza crusts.

He’s also got a deal with the Kallstrom family in Quincy, who provide his store with fresh sweet corn. McKee said the Kallstrom’s corn is especially fresh, and the secret is that they stagger planting in the spring so they only have a few rows of corn ripening at the same time. That way, the corn the Kallstroms supply is always fresh no matter what time of the season

Mike’s Meat & Farmers Market provides a outlet for local fruit and produce. They work with local farmers to provide farm fresh fruit and produce daily.

Hours: Monday through Saturday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm; Sunday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The Wenatchee Market was formed in 1978 as a Saturday market, since that time the market has been located in several different areas, finally settling in the Riverfront Park in 1986. It expanded to a Sunday and Wednesday market and soon added a market in the Bavarian village of Leavenworth. Then it added the Thursday afternoon Methow Park market in south Wenatchee, taking on a new look and flair as a Latino-style “Mercado”.
