The Wenatchee Market was formed in 1978 as a Saturday market, since that time the market has been located in several different areas, finally settling in the Riverfront Park in 1986. It expanded to a Sunday and Wednesday market and soon added a market in the Bavarian village of Leavenworth. Then it added the Thursday afternoon Methow Park market in south Wenatchee, taking on a new look and flair as a Latino-style "Mercado".
